Propane Tank Installation

Propane tanks ready for installation at Texas Propane

Texas Propane can install the right tank for you. First, we'll listen to your needs and desires and then we'll help you decide which is the right tank for you. Many residential customers need a 200 or 250 gallon tank which we refill 2 to 5 times per year. However, some people want the peace of mind in having more storage onsite and we can easily provide larger tanks. One of our customers has three 1,000 gallon underground tanks so that he will be sure and make it through that prolonged power outage.

Propane Tank Sizes

Tanks come in several types including cylinders, above ground and underground propane tanks. Most of the tanks we install are the above ground type with a few cylinders being used for gas log installations and some underground tanks where needed. Choosing the right tank for the job requires knowing what the propane usage load on the tank will be. A gas cooktop might use 25 gallons per year and can be served with a small cylinder, while a large custom home may require a 1,000 gallon tank or perhaps more. Texas Propane stocks tanks in many sizes such as 25, 120 150,200, 250,320,500, 1,000 gallon capacities. We stock underground tanks in 120, 250, 500 and 1,000 gallon. Many of our customers want extra storage so they are prepared for bad weather, price advantage, and peace of mind.

Propane Tank Location

Locating your tank at your new home or business is sometimes a challenge. Not everyone thinks a propane tank is as good looking as we do! With modern regulators, powerful trenchers, and poly pipe, it isn't very expensive to install that propane tank out of sight behind the barn or grove of trees. We have many helpful hints to conceal the tank such as shrubbery, fences, rockwork, just to name a few. One thing that we have to keep in mind when choosing a tank location is making sure it is accessible to the homeowner and the propane deliveryman. Texas Propane delivery trucks have 125 foot delivery hoses so we need to be able to drive a heavy truck within that distance. We have a crane truck that can lift a tank over fences, walls, swimming pools, obstacles of most types and get the tank in the best spot.

Propane Tank Requirements and Installation

Some towns require permits to install tanks and there can be time requirements to get these permits, sometimes 2-4 weeks. Different cities, homeowners associations, and subdivisions require tanks to be installed to their varied specifications, let us know what we can do to help. Our tanks can often be installed in a matter of a day or two. Texas Propane has good equipment, the best employees and the knowledge to get our work done in a timely and professional manner. During our busy time of the year, October, November and December you should plan a little in advance to be sure we get your propane or tank when you need it.
